I have a modern 4 year old CH sytem that is losing water and pressure?
I have a modern 4 year old POWERMAX Boiler CH sytem that is losing water to outside and therefore pressure from the ‘air bell’ ? I’ve topped up the pressure to the gauge from the small black lever that allows mains pressure water in but there’s still a drip and the gauge is still fluctuating.
My questions are;
Apart from a minor leak, ie a small water stain,from the nearby brass bleed screw (which I’ve now tightened) what’s causing the drip to outside ??
Should it be topped up when cold/hot and to what setting on the gauge? The redline is set for 2.5 BAR.
It would appear to be quite difficult to get into the works of the boiler as it is a big beast but everything is in the airing cupboard ie no expansion tank in the loft.
Any help would be appreciated
Is the safety relief valve draining to the outside. If the water comes from the valve leaking, replace the valve. If the valve functions properly and relives pressure as designed, find out why you are overpressuring.
